Instructions

These 10 levels can take as little as 10 seconds to play.

(One second for each level, simply by holding down the "up" arrow key ;)

...But don't miss the "fireworks" at the end!

The Making Of the Gratitude Game

It's sometimes surprising to see what comes out of using the Junior Jiffy World Maker game creation kit.

The concept for my "Gratitude Game" (aka "Special Thanks game"), made with the JJWM kit, http:

Since my "Holy Bats!" game needed a start-up screen of some kind, I tried "writing on the wall" so to speak, by using the shadows function on brick in the JJWM Editor. It seemed to work, in a rough kind of way, if I was careful which blocks got shaded. Success; I had a start-up screen with "Holy Bats!" written on it with shadow. (Note to JJWM game-makers: this is not an officially recommended technique for shading! ;)

That Holy Bats start-up screen led to experimentations of writing on bricks with shadow. To communicate a message of thanks, I began the "Gratitude Game" with "Hello World", the standard comment in computer programming, with "Maker" added after that. Next, I added a "switch" to get to the next text level by way of transport portal. By simply using the arrow key, the next message appears like a cartoon animation! Cool, that was a major insight.

Now, since levels with just words wasn't enough, I made a level with a white cross, signifying sacrifice, and loaded it with imploding bats, and on the next level, exploding bats. I liked that effect, kinda like fireworks, and so included three such "explosions" as a "fireworks finale" in the last level.

Done for now.and this Creator is happy!
